Jared Sez At the Belmont In the Neighborhood

Andrea Sez

Cliff Cafe

Spring has sprung. Time to pack away the winter clothes and get the house spring cleaned. It’s time for sipping Margarita's and Mojito's on the patio late into the evening and planning summer get-a-ways like tubing down the Guadalupe river before the summer vacationers take it over. I know I’m gearing up for hanging poolside for Barefoot at the Belmont, our summer music series with Bend Studio and Times Ten Cellars. Nothing says summer is almost in the air like live Texas music, green grass,  and a great view of Downtown. Spring will be amazing at the Belmont…we’ve even started our own veggie garden… come on over and say hello!

REAL GOOD FOOD... AT THE BELMONT HOTEL

We're excited to announce that Cliff is now serving on the patio. So, if you want a cozy outdoor setting away from the hustle and bustle ask the host for a patio seat.

While you are there try one of our staff favorites…the Salmon Scramble, Cajun Grilled Chicken Sandwich, or Southwest Shrimp Pasta.  One of us eats the Chocolate Cliff everyday...his co-workers are planning an intervention!  Staff also likes Stella Artois draft with a Classic Cheeseburger…after work of course.

Cliff opens daily at 7am serving Breakfast (all day), Lunch, and Dinner, Seven Days a Week.  Open Monday thru Thursday until 10pm, Friday and Saturday until 11pm, and until 9pm on Sunday.

People greatly overestimate what they can accomplish in a short amount of time. People greatly underestimate what they can accomplish in the long term.
- Brian Buffini

A perfect time for New Year's Resolutions

Why make all our life changes in January?  Now is a better time.  Days are longer.  The Texas outdoors is never more beautiful.

You do NOT NEED willpower to last a lifetime.  You only need to make one small change at a time.  For example, what if you could be healthier and burn more calories by simply drinking water?  That you can do.  Make it a goal to drink one half of your body weight in ounces of water per day.  This is your only goal for 2 weeks.  Too lofty a goal?  Then simply seek to double the water you currently drink.

Your next goal might be as simple as taking a walk before or after dinner. This can be your early summer cardio-vascular exercise.  Shoot for 20 minutes, three times a week.  All you need do is walk briskly away from your home or office for 10 minutes.  Then you have no choice but to return.

Your highest goal is not to join a gym or to lose weight.  The best goals are process related.  Let’s encourage each other to make one small healthy change at a time.  As these changes become habits they add up to a healthy lifestyle.

Questions?  Email healthclub@belmontdallas.com… or call Chris (214 734-8204) or Daryl (817 821-6424) to set up a consultation and tour.

"bend studio is an incredibly unique, wonderfully intimate, barefoot and non-smoking listening room in dallas, texas. we offer a sacred space for artists and music lovers alike. all of our musicians are extraordinary individuals who work hard to stay independent and create. no pretention, no frills, just serenity and love and mojo and the sweet smell of nag champa. don't miss this opportunity to see your favorite texas artists in this rare setting."

We love all things Bend - click on their website to see the lineup and listen to samples of the special musicians that play there.  We are really really happy to present Barefoot at the Belmont in association with Bend Studios.

The Misanthrope
By Molière
April 23–May 18, 2008

Directed by David Kennedy.  In a world ripe with gossip, intrigue, and endless litigation, one man takes a brave stand against hypocrisy - while all the time remaining blind to his own.  Molière's richly sophisticated comic drama chronicles a day in the life of Alceste, a man who loathes the glitter and glamour of high society, but loves the woman who most embodies it.  A darkly funny exploration of conflicting obsessions, The Misanthrope is one of the greatest plays ever written.
